| About Us
Hands Empowering the Less Privileged in Sierra Leone HELP-SL) is an incorporated social enterprise and
a subsidiary of THE HELP GROUP. HELP-NGO was founded in 1996 August and has moved on to become
one of the leading social enterprises in Sierra Leone. We practice and preach enterprise approaches to
poverty reduction. We are convinced that the social and economic issues of the poor are inextricably
linked.
Our approach to creating lasting solutions to social problems is entrepreneurial and market based. We
are strong believers that charity only perpetuates poverty by taking the initiative away from the poor.
We are aware that the only way to fight persistent poverty is to create sustainable income earning
opportunities for the poor.
We are therefore being creative and innovative in developing entrepreneurial and market based
approaches to service delivery across our three thematic priorities of Human Security, Women’s
Empowerment & Advancement, and Food Security & Youth Development.
Our Vision
Communities living in Peace, Justice and Dignity with access to livelihoods geared towards sustainable
development.
Our Mission
HELP-SL to this end would capacitate communities, CSOs etc to advocate against injustices, bad
governance and promote livelihood initiatives geared towards promoting peace and reducing poverty.

failure –in pursuit of making the greatest possible impact on causes of poverty
